The Executive Diploma programme is specially designed to enhance the skills and knowledge related to the client vocation for career advancement. The curriculum, which is developed and designed by professional lectures from various faculties of the Universiti Malaya and also profesional practitioners, stresses both theoretical and practical aspects to cater to working adults needs to enhance their knowledge and skills in related fields. All courses are carried out on a part-time basis and classes are held on weekends.

Universiti Malaya Centre for Continuing Education or better known as UMCCed is a Centre of Responsibility (CoR) under Universiti Malaya itself and is a Public Institute of Higher Education. This means that students who attend the UMCCed programme will obtain a certificate to be issued by the University of Malaya

There are ten (10) Executive Diploma programs that are offered at UMCCed;

  1. Executive Diploma in Management (Administration and Operation)
  2. Executive Diploma in Management (Business)
  3. Executive Diploma in Management (Human Resource)
  4. Executive Diploma in Early Childhood Education
  5. Executive Diploma in Counseling
  6. Executive Diploma in Administration Accounting
  7. Executive Diploma in Information Technology
  8. Executive Diploma in Shariah Studies
  9. Executive Diploma in Usuluddin Studies
  10. Executive Diploma in Coaching Science

All Executive Diploma programs are accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and recognized by the Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA). The Executive Diploma program is equivalent to a Diploma program where students have to follow a minimum of 90 credit hours over 2 years 6 months (6 semesters).

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. Passed SPM with minimum of three (3) credits or equivalent; OR
  2. Obtained APEL certification from MQA for admission to Diploma (Level 4); OR
  3. Obtained other qualifications recognized by the Senate; AND
  4. Have at least six (6) months working experience; AND
  5. Fulfill the special requirements of the program set by the Senate.

** Special Requirements for Executive Diploma Usuluddin Studies

  1. At least a pass at SPM level in subject Arabic or Islamic Studies; OR
  2. A recognized certificate in Islamic Studies or equivalent; OR
  3. Attend Arabic or Islamic Studies class organize by Universiti Malaya or any other higher education institution.

Yes, the candidates that are not in the current year of SPM are eligible to apply for the Executive Diploma program at UMCCed.

Yes, non-citizen students are eligible to attend if the candidate meets the admission requirements set by UMCCed.

All UMCCed Diploma programs are fully accredited by MQA. Information about this recognition can be obtained through the following MQA website:

All UMCCed Executive Diploma programs are fully recognized by JPA. Information about this recognition can be obtained through the following JPA website

No. Students do not need to be interviewed or take any written tests to apply to UMCCed.

UMCCed Executive Diploma graduates will not have any problem to apply and continue their studies at any IPTA/IPTS subject to the conditions set by the relevant IPTA/IPTS.

UM Executive Diploma graduates have the opportunity to continue their studies to the Bachelor’s Degree level at any IPTA and IPTS in the country but subject to quotas and additional conditions set for each university. In addition, graduates are also eligible to hold any suitable position in government and private agencies but are subject to public service requirements and other criteria set by an organization/company.

The medium of instruction will be bilingual (Malay and English)

Yes, students who graduate will receive their respective scrolls in the Universiti Malaya Convocation Ceremony at the UM Dewan Tunku Canselor.
